Types of Nodes

There are two primary types of nodes in VirtuCloud:

  • Full Nodes: These nodes store the entire blockchain and independently validate transactions and blocks according to consensus rules. They contribute significantly to network security by verifying transactions, propagating blocks, and participating in the consensus mechanism.

  • Lightweight Nodes: Also known as SPV (Simplified Payment Verification) nodes, these nodes rely on full nodes to provide block data but do not store the entire blockchain locally. Despite their reduced storage requirements, lightweight nodes still contribute to network security by verifying transactions and relying on full nodes for blockchain data.
